Nominations & Elections Committee

The Committee ensures that the leadership team is composed of qualified, diverse, and effective individuals who can guide IDSA toward its strategic objectives. The committee is responsible for identifying and vetting candidates to serve in elected roles on the Board of Directors and other elected positions within IDSA.

General Responsibilities:

1. Recommend policies and necessary updates to IDSA’s nominations and elections processes, ensuring they are transparent, fair, and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
2. Identify and vet high-quality member leaders for leadership roles within IDSA.
3. Ensure IDSA leads its nominations and elections processes with a DEI lens.
4. Evaluate without bias candidates’ qualifications and experience.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Discuss and recommend new policies, practices, and requirements that should be considered by the Board of Directors.

Committee Member Criteria:

  • Composition: Seven (7) members with a representative from each of the five (5) Districts and two (2) representatives from the Board of Directors, and inclusive of committee Chair and Chair-Elect.
  • Qualifications: IDSA members in good standing.
  • Meetings: Monthly.
  • Commitment Required: Three to five (3-5) hours per month including participation in a minimum of eight (8) meetings per year.
  • Term: One (1) year; up to two (2) consecutive terms. Term begins January 1.
