Celebrating visionary leadership in design, sustainability, and community innovation

Herndon, VA – The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) proudly announces the induction of Jason Belaire into the IDSA Academy of Fellows, honoring his exceptional contributions to the design profession and to the IDSA community.

Most of the design world knows Jason as a seasoned presenter, industrial designer, entrepreneur, and investor with more than 25 years of recognition and leadership in the field. As Chair of IDSA, Jason launched the first-ever Industrial Design Deep Dive on Sustainability and Circular Design—a groundbreaking initiative that set attendance records and helped shape the Society’s inaugural vision statement. His work aligned IDSA’s mission with global circular design principles inspired by the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Jason continues to be a progressive and inspiring leader in the Denver design community and beyond. From guiding Denver Design Week and co-founding Denver Does Design to curating forward-thinking content for the Outdoor Retailer Trend and Design Center, he has continually expanded the reach and impact of design through community, innovation, and vision.

Known for delivering “experience firsts,” Jason introduced EQ-driven research at Denver Start-Up Week, drawing record audiences and invitations from institutions such as MIT and Harvard. His leadership continues to advance the first principles of cultural inclusivity, organizational sustainability, and design collaboration.

“Jason embodies the spirit of design leadership that IDSA’s Fellowship recognizes—his ability to connect vision, community, and impact sets an inspiring example for our profession,” said Donte Shannon, CEO, IDSA.

Jason Belaire, congratulations and welcome to the IDSA Academy of Fellows. The Fellowship Program honors members who have earned the respect and affection of the design community through distinguished service to the Society and to the profession as a whole.
