Michael Held is Vice President of Design at Steelcase, where he and his team prototype the future of work and explore how technology will augment workers and workplaces. He holds degrees in Industrial Design from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt as well as an Executive Master in Design Culture from the University of Art and Design Zurich.
His career spans roles at design consultancies in Germany and Switzerland, followed by positions at Asus Computer Taiwan and Philips Design in Singapore and Hong Kong, where he built and led teams designing consumer electronics, software applications, and brand experiences. Since joining Steelcase in 2014, he has held several leadership positions across Asia and Europe. Michael lives with his family in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
