Senior Director of Brand Strategy, IDSA Kristin Prestegaard is a seasoned strategic executive with over a decade of experience leading high-performing marketing, communications, and brand strategy teams across the cultural and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, they served as the head of brand and communications at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), where they led the production of its award-winning 30,000-household magazine, managed the museum’s rebrand in partnership with Pentagram, and directed the implementation of a unified visual and verbal identity across all institutional touchpoints. With a deep belief in data-driven insights, Kristin established and oversaw Mia’s first Audience Insights department, guiding strategic decisions through rigorous qualitative and quantitative research. She led all communications, digital marketing, and media relations efforts, securing national media coverage and significantly increasing brand awareness. Under her leadership, Mia launched a record-breaking attendance and membership program, earning the national Loyalty Program of the Year award.
