Hussain Almossawi

Hussain Almossawi is an industrial designer, VFX Artist, and author who has worked across industries and around the world consulting for companies such as Nike, Apple, Adidas, Amazon, and Ford Motor Company, among others. He is a regular keynote speaker on innovation and design and has taught at several universities. In 2019, Hussain founded Mossawi Studios, a multi-disciplinary design studio specializing in creating memorable, iconic, and bold experiences. He loves blurring the lines between product design, visual effects, and storytelling.
Ideating in 3D for Industrial Design
Hussain will be sharing his workflow as industrial designer and how he explores silhouettes and form through 3D programs when he is designing a product: “I find that exploring ideas through mediums that are not traditionally used for design creates interesting and new opportunities to come up with ideas.” He will also be sharing a case study of a shoe he designed in 3D using 3D Studio Max and Substance Painter, where he started prototyping and exploring different forms, materials, colors, and details.
