Colin Nourie is an American industrial designer and founder of the design studio, Collective Ten. For more than two decades, he has been designing furniture, lighting and systems for an enviable list of international design brands within the modern workplace, hospitality and residential markets. Pairing a hands-on design approach and his seasoned professional experience, he has become a regularly sought-after design partner to companies such as Herman Miller, Danao Living, Design Within Reach, Pavilion and Senator/Allermuir. His work possesses a strong visual signature that is characterized by sophisticated minimal forms that effortless flow into each other creating designs with bold silhouettes. Inspired by modern architecture, the values of contemporary living, and the vision of masterful craftsmanship, Nourie’s design work has garnered numerous international awards such as the IDEA Award, the GOODDESIGN Award, the European Product Design Award, the IDA Award and the Neocon Gold Award.
A graduate of The Ohio State University’s industrial design program, Nourie has regularly served, as a critic andguest lecturer at the Weitzman School of Design at University of Pennsylvania, the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and DAAP at the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
