Carolina is a designer focused on understanding the importance of emotion and empathy in the design process, as well as its impact on the stakeholders’ experience. She has over 15 years of experience working on strategic design research and information design for public and private organizations in Colombia, the United States, and Oman. She was a professor of Industrial Design for the undergraduate program at Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and a professor for a graduate program at Sergio Arboleda University. At Fjord, Carolina led several projects with multidisciplinary teams for local and global leading companies across different industries such as information, technology, financial services, healthcare, retail, and transportation. She was in charge of developing the Organizational Innovation practice in Colombia, and of setting the strategic vision for innovation projects from a human perspective, in alignment with the business strategy and the innovation pipeline. Currently, Carolina is the Design Manager at Nu Colombia working with multidisciplinary teams to empower people in order to get back control of their financial lives, by breaking down the traditional barriers to access financial services and literacy in Latin America. Nu is part of Nubank, a leader fintech company in Latam, and the biggest independent digital bank in the world with more than 40 million clients.
Carolina holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Universidad Javeriana and a master’s degree in Design from the University of Cincinnati as a Fulbright Scholar.
