Alden Rose, IDSA
Industrial Designer | Lenovo
Alden Rose is the kind of person who will explain to a complete stranger why the elevator button layout is illogical and how she would design it differently. Experiences matter. Products matter. That is why she is a designer.
Alden seeks to improve people’s lives through design and technology. By embracing ambiguity, she looks for the hidden opportunities that can create meaningful change through product innovation.
She uses purpose-driven problem solving to develop new products that create value for both users and companies. Her work bridges research and design, extrapolating insights to craft impactful and results-oriented solutions. Alden has a healthy obsession with hardware, how form and function can work seamlessly to shape user experience. She uses ideation and prototyping to bring new concept ideas to life and to craft stories for why a product matters.
When she’s not designing new products, you can find Alden hiking or building something in her workshop.
Statement of Candidacy
I am interested in being the South District Chapter Representative for IDSA because, as a relatively new career professional, I believe I bring a unique perspective to the needs of early career professionals. I hope to share my experience and help others as they begin and progress on their design journey.
As South DCR, I hope to support the new city-based chapter initiative and provide coordination among the different chapter heads, as well as provide them the resources and support they need as they build communities of designers. I am very passionate about Impact and Universal Design and using the tools of innovation and entrepreneurship to create products that improve people’s lives. I hope to bring this passion to IDSA and foster a community of like-minded individuals.
