Vincent Lin is an assistant designer at Macy’s, Inc. in New York. NY. Vincent has a wide range of design experiences in housewares, digital products, home electronics, service design, and art direction. Vincent currently serves as Vice Chair of the IDSA NYC Chapter, creating various events and digital platforms to bring all the New York designers together. Vincent has a passion for learning new skillsets in design, business, and technology, and he loves to infuse these new skills into every design opportunity. Vincent graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Industrial Design, a Minor in Business Management, and a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations.
Statement of Candidacy (Education Council - Practitioner | 2022-2023 term)
As a Vice Chair of the IDSA NYC Chapter, Vincent aims to build a bridge between industrial design students and professionals, and connect students with experienced design mentors in the field. Vincent has experience in promoting local IDSA Student Chapter activities and city-wide design events in the Greater NYC Metropolitan Area with various design schools. He also mentors local design students and guides them to develop their own design skills and creative confidence. He understands the important value of industrial design education, and what works the best for students and young professionals.
