Monica Tournoux, IDSA
Senior Product Designer | Design Central
Chair, IDSA Columbus Chapter | 2020-2021

Monica Tournoux is a Senior Product Designer at Design Central in Columbus, OH, with over 10 years of design experience. Her design background is highly diversified, with experience in the toy, medical, consumer and soft goods and manufacturing industries. In her work she utilizes international consumer research through co-creation workshops and collaborative design, and analyzes this research to unpack the underlying consumer needs and trends. Her most gratifying part of the design process is giving a voice to the people she designs for, from consumer research all the way through to production.

While at Hasbro in Rhode Island, she became the first female to work in the Nerf department. While there she designed and developed a new line extension of products under the Nerf brand which explored alterative play patterns to include a larger audience. She also worked on Super Soaker, NSports, Game Development and Specialty and Exclusives.

She has a passion to always be learning and teaching along the way. She serves as a leader and mentor to designers and interns, and has worked on various projects to make design more accessible within her community.

Monica received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art. She currently serves as the Chair of the IDSA Columbus Chapter, hosting events that bring together the creative communities.
