The Threshold of Other Spaces: A Feminine Framework of Experience Design

Four designers working across scenic design, computational architecture, XR research, and virtual curation is a night of discussion.

On July 28th, WID Chicago and WID NYC will host The Threshold of Other Spaces: A Feminine Framework of Experience Design. This will be the first, and certainly not the last, cross-chapter panel, bringing together womxn designers working at the intersection of scenic design, computational architecture, XR research, and virtual curation.

The spaces we design are never neutral. A stage, a building, and virtual rooms all carry the assumptions, values, and imagination of their designers. Which raises a question worth sitting with: Whose imagination has been shaping the environments we all move through?

The conversation will move from individual practice to systemic reality to a speculative future – what we build today, where we exist, and who we become in the futures we design.

Hosted live inside the XR Women Museum.

Free and open to designers of all backgrounds.
