Design Research has shifted from a luxury to an integral part of the design process. This Section focuses on design research in terms of cases studies, methods and best practices, and strives to share and explore ideas through the design community.
" We will share examples of physical/digital product/service ecosystems being enhanced through Design Research and Industrial Design; Contribute to Design Research discussion and thought leadership, especially regarding application to holistic, physical product design and digital/physical system design; Enhance robustness of research practices for both students and professionals; and Connect and collaborate with fields adjacent to Design Research (e.g. UX Research, Service Design, Anthropology, Ethnography, Human Factors, and Design Strategy) to share knowledge, techniques and methods.” –Aaron Kurth, IDSA, Chair
