Design as an essential part of business strategy. Design management acts as an the interface of management and design and functions as link between the platforms of technology, design, design thinking, corporate management, brand management and marketing management at internal and external interfaces of the enterprise.

The Design Management Section is concerned with the integration of design into management and vice versa by helping designers and their organization make design-relevant decisions in a market-oriented and customer-oriented manner while optimizing design-relevant processes.

The goal of the Design Management Section is “to help empower design professionals through education, awareness and competence building to advance their profession into and throughout design management.” – Jay Peters, IDSA, Chair
