The IDSA Detroit (DET) Chapter serves the networking and professional development needs of industrial designers in Detroit, Michigan and surrounding areas. Some of the activities and events that the Detroit Chapter has produced include lectures, studio tours, and collaborations with other professional design organizations. In 1994 and 2016 Detroit was the site of IDSA’s International Design Conference and Education Symposium which brought together designers from around the world for design dialogue and discourse.

IDSA Detroit also supports design students in the area, including College of Creative Studies, Cranbrook Academy, Kendall College of Art & Design, Lawrence Technical University, Northern Michigan University, University of Michigan, and Wayne State University. We encourage a strong partnership between the student chapters and the professional chapter that includes portfolio reviews, career development, and social events.

The chapter officers below were elected to position by members of the Detroit Chapter and hold a two-year term.
