The NYTimes museum sheds light on the fascinating evolution of a beacon of American journalism, but it is entirely hidden from anyone who isn’t physically in the office building. To make it accessible to the public, we created a Virtual New York Times Museum web app that offers an immersive and engaging experience, allowing users to discover the history of the past 170 years, as witnessed by The New York Times. Through dynamic spatial interactions and a gamified scavenger hunt, the Virtual Museum creates an immersive experience that simulates walking through the museum, offering greater engagement without the need to be physically present. Beyond effectively showcasing artifacts, the Virtual Museum’s guided narratives allow the public to learn more about the journalism powerhouse’s enlightening history and build a consistent brand for the company’s commitment to truth and resilient reporting.
