FIDS X reimagines the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) at Incheon International Airport’s Terminal 2 arrivals hall, integrating real-time flight data with immersive media art. This innovative system transforms waiting time into an intuitive and visually captivating experience. Unlike traditional table-based FIDS, FIDS X employs card and progress bar formats that present flight information clearly and efficiently. In addition to improving user experience, FIDS X integrates two media art pieces, “Arrived” and “Artmood,” which dynamically reflect real-time environmental data such as air quality, weather, and seasonal changes. This fusion of information and artistic expression provides visitors with an emotionally engaging experience while raising awareness of global sustainability issues. The 60m x 5m curved digital canvas enhances the airport’s role as a cultural gateway, offering a functional yet artistic way to access real-time flight information.
