
Hannah Berkin-Harper is an industrial designer and educator based in New York City. She is an Associate Professor of Industrial Design at NJIT and Design Lead at Street Lab, a nonprofit that creates pop-up design and programming to activate public spaces and bring people together. Her research focuses on design for public spaces, community-centered design, and environmental sustainability.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Hannah has worked as a senior designer at Karim Rashid's studio and founded HBH Design, a consultancy focused on environmental sustainability and public space. She has taught at Pratt Institute, NYU Tandon, and Montclair State University. She is a two-time NYCxDesign Award honoree and a 2025 IDSA IDEA Award winner, and her work has been published in the New York Times and Next City.
