MXZ Card Design Series (Plastic and Metal)

Transforming Arithmetic Symbols into Tangible Design The M, MM, X, and Z card series redefine credit card design by integrating arithmetic symbols to visually represent each card’s benefits. Using Processing, a computational design tool, these symbols are transformed into dynamic digital 2D patterns, which are then materialized onto physical cards. Each card embodies a distinct visual language: • M and MM (+) signify accumulation benefits, • X (-) represents discounts, • Z (∞) symbolizes interval repetition. This marks the first-ever use of Processing-generated graphics in card design, setting a new precedent in the industry. The fluid continuity of the patterns creates a cohesive series aesthetic, unlike anything seen in traditional credit cards. The plastic version employs an advanced solid printing technique, adding depth and tactile quality beyond a flat surface. Meanwhile, the metal version leverages a unique fabrication process, incorporating ceramic coating, and laser engraving, offering a materially distinctive interpretation of the same design.
