Oxynizer is a non-electric oxygen generator that works with any bicycle pump to quickly produce and deliver oxygen to patients. In many developing countries where medical infrastructure is limited, oxygen shortages are a critical issue, causing over 130,000 deaths in Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic. Oxynizer addresses this by generating oxygen that is 1.5 to 2 times purer than the air pumped through an efficient three-step process: compression, filtration, and refreshing. Once deployed, Oxynizer provides sustainable use with its semi-permanent filter materials that are reused by simple heating, and its universal hose system that is widely accessible. We aim to help build a self-sustaining oxygen supply system in developing countries, starting by integrating Oxynizer into bicycles to transform them into mobile ambulances.
