TouchNav is an innovative navigational aid devised specifically for individuals with visual impairments, offering tangible tactile feedback indicating both distance and designated locations. The device incorporates a materialized progress indicator, employing integrated sensors to convert the traversed path into a dynamic physical progress bar that adapts in real time. The mechanism facilitates the user’s innate ability to gauge the remaining distance to their intended destination via the tactile sensations experienced through the device’s handle. Moreover, the cane’s vibration feedback feature for location memory points empowers users to denote and recall frequently visited sites.
