Shea is an industrial design faculty member at Auburn University, and currently teaches fourth-year advanced product design and second-year foundations studios. Most recently he has co-led Studio+Build, a interdisciplinary innovation collaboration focused on new product development for the construction industry.
Prior professional experience includes work as an industrial designer with Techtronic Industries (Ryobi, Ridgid, and Craftsman power tools) and Cooper Lighting (commercial lighting systems). In addition, Shea also worked as a user researcher with SonicRim, a research and strategy consultancy based in Columbus, Ohio. Shea holds a B.IND from Auburn University and an M.A. in Design from Ohio State University.
