Scott Stropkay, IDSA | Founding Partner at Essential
Scott Stropkay, founding partner of the research, strategy and development consulting firm Essential, helps business leaders create innovative products and services in consumer, health care and commercial markets and brings them together with his team of researchers, skilled translators, industrial designers and engineers. Stropkay advises companies on cross-functional innovation—game-changing strategies that, when employed, help teams create and lead from the “outside-in.” His key strengths include helping companies build better discovery processes, define innovation opportunities and leverage design-thinking skills to inform business strategy. His work guides the selection and development of market leading products and services for clients including AARP, Gillette, Philips, Moen, Shure, Becton Dickinson and Owens Corning. Before Essential, Stropkay led an integrated design, human factors and interaction design team at IDEO and served as director of design at Gillette and Fitch. He earned his bachelor’s in fine arts in industrial design from the Cleveland Institute of Art
