Scott Mason is an industrial designer whose work includes furniture, interior design, consumer products, toys and exhibits, as well as computer illustration and animation.
He is the proprietor of Scott Mason Design, a producer of contemporary furnishings for the contract furniture industry and has his own furniture lines in production licensed in his name. He is a Four-time winner of Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Merit Award (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010).
Mason also has worked as a furniture designer for the Washington, D.C.-based Hall of Fame designer Debra Lehman-Smith, and developed the LSM guest chair to complement the LSM furniture line and as an exhibit designer for the National Aquarium in Baltimore. He has designed consumer products, medical and scientific instruments, and toys for a variety of industrial design studios.
His computer illustrations and animations of NASA’s space shuttle, experimental spacecraft and the International Space Station have appeared on NBC’s Nightline, CNN, and The Discovery Channel, and have been published by Popular Science, Space News, and Ad Astra.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut; He is Vice- Chair of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America and was Chapter Chair from 2007 through 2009.
He and his family make their home in Washington, DC.
