Samuel Petre, IDSA | Chair WI IDSA | Bjorksten | bit7
Samuel’s design philosophy centers on the user. Great design is about creating inspired experiences. He honed these skills at Hasbro in Rhode Island, Mixer in Texas, Aspen Medical in California, and Buell Motorcycles in Wisconsin. Now Samuel furthers his passion for design with the diverse clientele of Bjorksten | bit 7.
Samuel is a creative lead and cross-functional project manager at Bjorksten | bit 7. He also holds the ignominious title of ‘Best Segway crash ever caught in slow-motion’. Located in Madison, Bjorksten | bit 7 is a vibrant consultancy with the fluid, dynamic nature of an entrepreneurial start-up coupled with the depth and skill nurtured over its 50 year history.
Samuel attended the University of Cincinnati where he studied Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering, earning his Bachelor of Science in Design from the College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning. He resides in Milwaukee with his lovely wife Sara and beautiful daughter Patricia Grace.
As the incoming Chair of Wisconsin IDSA, Samuel hopes to maintain the momentum and excitement of the past few years by lending additional structure and accountability to the region. Wisconsin IDSA has the potential and the responsibility to be the leading ambassador of professional design to business, academia, and the greater community.
