Vinh Phamdo received his bachelor’s in economics from UC San Diego in 2005, before he knew what an industrial designer was. It wasn’t until an unexpected conversation with a product designer that he discovered what he really wanted to do with his life. During his senior year at The Art Institute of Orange County, he joined forces with three other students and founded a lighting company through Kickstarter.
