Katey Brown, IDSA | The Henry Ford
Katey Brown is the Manager of Exhibitions and Museum Projects at The Henry Ford. The Henry Ford provides unique educational experiences based on authentic objects, stories, and lives from America’s traditions of ingenuity, resourcefulness and innovation. Their purpose is to inspire people to learn from these traditions to help shape a better future.
Katey currently manages the flexible exhibitions gallery which rotates exhibits three times annually. She is responsible for identifying engaging programs and submitting topics and exhibition schedule to senior management. Katey manages museum projects ranging in costs from $15,000 to $2,000,000 and she is responsible for facilitating the entire sequence of functions related to exhibition planning, development, budget maintenance, fabrication, materials, colors, storyline, graphics production, lighting, and installation techniques. Katey brings excitement, passion and creativity to all potential projects and enjoys bringing experiences to life for The Henry Ford patrons.
Katey is a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America, Association of Children’s Museums, American Association of Museums, Society of Environmental Graphic Design and the Traveling Exhibitions Professional Interest Committee. Katey holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Interior Design from Bob Jones University and volunteers her time at her local church as well as with organizations such as Athletes with Autism and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
