Juhi Solanki is an industrial designer with polymath tendencies including:
– the fields of immersive computing – XR: AR / VR / MR and parallel fields like Voice;
– (the understanding of) human behavior, habits, psychology, philosophy and experiences (CX / UX);
– analytics and synthesis of disparate, complex data points into something intuitive and easy to understand;
– making, tinkering, prototyping in multiple media including ceramics, 3D printing, food;
– the art, craft and science of storytelling
For the past several years, she has been designing innovation-focused packaging for brands like the Colgate-Palmolive umbrella, Disney, Samsung, etc for various global markets. She also designed for areas including footwear, housewares (tabletop, kitchen), workplace solutions, music instruments, exhibits, medical equipment and jewelry.
She loves to learn, share (and laugh!). She’s currently teaching grad + undergrad industrial design at Pratt as well as doing research and design projects on anything from small daily tasks like “how to decide what to make for dinner tonight” to bigger picture ideas like “how can we stay connected to the flora and fauna of the world in an urban environment”.
