Joy Christensen, IDSA | PolyOne
St. Louis Chapter Public Relations Chair: 2014-2016
I am the newest member of the rapidly evolving design group at PolyOne. I am also a recent addition to the St. Louis chapter, but I love my home town of St. Louis and believe that working to strengthen the creative community here is good for this city.
I earned my first BFA in Sculpture, graduating in 2007 from Washington University in St. Louis. After trying out a variety of jobs, I made the decision to return to school to study industrial design. I finished my second degree at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in May of 2013. While at SIUC, I served their student chapter as an officer for 2 years. I was also proud to represent SIUC as a Merit finalist in 2013, and worked with a team that placed silver in the 2013 IDEA competition. IDSA was clearly a valuable resource to me as a student and I’m looking forward to being a part of my home town chapter as a young professional and building this resource for others.
In my free time, I’m still an art and design nerd. If I can’t be making something, I love museums and exploring local parks. I’m always hunting for unique stories from books, NPR, or good conversations. I can also bake a pretty decent pie when needed.
