Joe Cesa founded Halyard’s Human Centered Design team—responsible for designing product user experiences and user interfaces; and evaluating designs to determine the risk of use-related hazards and the effectiveness of risk controls. He led the creation of Halyard’s design language strategy, and the integration of human factors into Halyard’s existing design controls and risk management.
Cesa is a member of the AAMI Human Factors Committee, and contributing author of the revised ANSI HE75 HF Guidance and TIR-59 Integration of HF in Design Controls. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from the Cleveland Institute of Art and has designed more than 55 commercialized products with 17 patents. He’s worked in the toy, consumer products and medical devices industries.
