Gabriela Diego, IDSA | Playworld Systems Inc.
Industrial Designer
Finalist in the 2009 IDEA awards. NEOS product. Leisure and Recreation category.
I graduated from University of Guadalajara in 1997 with a degree in Industrial Design. Immediately after graduation, I realized I didn’t like the fact that I knew a lot about product development but not much about how product affects businesses. So a couple of years after graduation I was holding a Master’s Degree in Marketing.
I have been an Industrial Designer for a commercial playground manufacturing company since 2001. As part of the product development group, I am involved in finding opportunities for PLAY. I have the privilege of creating concepts and translating them into meaningful products for children and families to enjoy in an outdoor setting.
When I am not designing play equipment, I am probably catching up with friends and family in Mexico, eating amazing food, or spending my time visiting playgrounds with my 2 young daughters and thinking about play areas to come.
