Rayvon Fouché is the Director of the American Studies Program at Purdue University. His work explores the multiple intersections between cultural representation, racial identification and technological design. His books include Black Inventors in the Age of Segregation, Appropriating Technology: Vernacular Science and Social Power, Technology Studies and the forthcoming Game Changer: Technoscience and the Fate of Athletic Competition. Grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities, National Science Foundation and the Smithsonian Institution’s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation have supported his research. He holds a PhD in Science & Technology Studies from Cornell University.
