Elijah grew up in the Pittsburgh area and attended Philadelphia University’s Industrial Design program. While there he was shop monitor, IDSA student chapter President, and Philadelphia University’s Merit award winner for 2006. Upon graduation, he spent three months at an internship with Under-Armour’s footwear dept in Baltimore. Elijah then moved to Princeton, New Jersey where he was employed full-time as an Industrial Designer. During his two years at Michael Graves Design Group, he worked on hundreds of products, a large percentage of which ended up on the shelves of Target. He decided to move back home to be close to family and since Pittsburgh is an incredible city. In 2008 Elijah joined 4moms as its’ 8th employee and first industrial designer. Over the last six years, he has designed every product the company makes and has worked on many more in the pipeline. He has been named on over 16 patents and won 2 Red Dot awards. A year into his tenure, he began establishing a design department, which has grown to include 11 designers and 5 soft-goods designers. Elijah’s responsibilities currently involve product development leadership, department management, and high level strategy setting for the future of 4moms. In his position with 4moms he has had the opportunity to interact with IDSA, Pittsburgh Tech Council, Techshop, and numerous other startups and initiatives. He looks forward to growing that involvement and helping to foster western PA’s growing network of designers, engineers, roboticists, and businesses.
