Before that, he was a junior associate at Hill Country Woodworks in Chapel Hill, where had previously interned, and a furniture designer at Longhammer, a custom furniture design + build company, he founded in Durham.
An problem solver and innovator at heart, immediately upon completing a BA in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill, Pearson went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Product Design from NC State University where he won the Syme Rain Garden Bench design/build competition 2011 and was a member of the Underwater Robotics Club and the IDSA Student Chapter.

In his personal life, Pearson loves to go camping with his wife and two dogs. And, while fishing is a passion, he claims not to be successful at big catches. Pearson’s other pursuits include painting, cooking, wine tasting and “anything with an engine.” Additionally, Pearson and a group of friends have successfully organized and conducted fundraisers for the Cleft Palate Foundation of Chapel Hill, NC, building on the success of the “Mustache March” to maximize the effort on behalf of the charity.
