Dan Hamilton, IDSA
Principal / Lead Designer | Sky Arrow Creative, LLC
Dan Hamilton is a Kansas City, KS native and Industrial Design graduate from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. In the course of his 20-year career, he has been lucky enough to have lived and worked as a professional designer all over the United States: from Wisconsin to Iowa, to California, to North Carolina, and now back where it all started, in Kansas.
From 2016-2019, he served as Chapter Chair for IDSA-Kansas City; and during that time also served on the Board of Directors at the Center for Architecture & Design (Kansas City). Currently, he serves on the Professional Advisory Board for the Industrial Design program at Kansas State University. Dan recently earned an MBA from Rockhurst University, which he has been able to apply to the running of his own design consultancy: Sky Arrow Creative, LLC.
The two full terms Dan served as Chapter Chair for IDSA-KC taught him many lessons about what it takes to get an IDSA chapter moving. Some of those lessons were learned the hard way, a few came easily, and the rest he simply learned from others in the amazing community he and his team built. He is deeply proud of what he and his community accomplished in just a couple of years and grateful for all the amazing people he’s gotten to know through IDSA.
Statement of Candidacy
My interest in serving as the Chapter Director on IDSA’s Board of Directors is very simple: to take my experience working on the chapter level and use it to be a voice and an advocate for IDSA chapters nationwide. With all the new city-based chapters coming online, as well as existing and well-established chapters, my mission is to be an active resource and champion for all the efforts and initiatives that our network of IDSA chapters are pursuing.
I’ve come to know many talented and generous designers through my work in IDSA. Whether in an official capacity or not, I look forward to meeting and working with many more as we continue to build our community on a local, regional and national level.
