Ian Cunningham worked for eight years in design consultancies before joining Newell Rubbermaid in 2002 as a Sr. Industrial Designer for the Irwin Tools business. He progressed through design management roles moving on to the Rubbermaid brand where he led Prototyping, Packaging and ID groups. Currently he heads up a team of 40+ designers working on over 20 major brands including Rubbermaid Irwin, Sharpie, Rotring, Graco and Calphalon. In March Newell Rubbermaid opened its new state-of-the-art Design Center in Kalamazoo, MI. Prior to receiving his Master’s Degree in Industrial Design with a Woodworking minor from Rochester Institute of Technology, Cunningham earned a BS in Marketing with a Fine Art minor from Ithaca College in New York State.
