Michelle Avelis is motivated by being an advocate for the product end-user. She enjoys helping users articulate their wishes and frustrations, translating them into inspiration for engaging, practical design. As part of the Lextant insight translation team, she bridges the gap between complicated data and insights that product teams can develop and deploy. Before joining Lextant in May 2010, she held positions at the Chicago design firm STRENG, Delta Faucet Co. and Litelab Corp. She graduated from Purdue University’s Industrial Design Program with a minor in psychology. Avelis saw the connection between ID and psychology and that understanding both is necessary for truly great design. She has worked on projects for clients such as Nationwide, Chase, Kaplan and GE Appliance.
