Alice Jandrisits, IDSA | RedFusion Studios
Alice Jandrisits is the director of research + design for Red Fusion Studios where she is leading the area of user insights/research and directing the industrial design efforts in the Downers Grove studio. Prior to RFS, she was senior manager of the industrial design group for Baxter Healthcare. She led the group in user-centered design processes and design thinking and led the corporate function for ID within Baxter. She has experience in industrial design corporate and consulting environments in a variety of new product development roles. Jandrisits has developed optimized product solutions for industries including consumer electronics, small and large appliances, lighting products, kitchen and bath environments, and medical devices and systems. She holds 16 patents, over 10 invention records, and has been responsible for successful implementation for dozens of product designs. She has been on global, integrated, cross-functional teams applying research methodologies and PDP practices to achieve optimized user-centered design outcomes. She has managed and directed technically driven teams of industrial designers and design engineers. She earned a master’s in the Master of Product Development program (MPD) from Northwestern University in 2007, and has a bachelor’s in industrial design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a long-standing member of IDSA and a student mentor for the past 10 years. In 2007, she co-authored a juried paper for the HCI conference in Japan entitled: Industrial Design and Human Factors: Design Synergy for Medical Devices.
