Industrial Designer, Fjord
Alejandra Castelao, IDSA, is an Industrial Designer at Fjord, part of Accenture Interactive. She currently works in the Connected Products and Spaces team at Fjord and specializes in designing experiences that take place at the intersection of digital and physical. After getting her start designing furniture and interior spaces for boutique hotels and restaurants in her home country, Mexico, Alex made the jump into tech by joining frog design in 2012. Most recently, she led the physical experience design, interior architecture and custom hardware solutions of concierge-style medical facilities for Forward, an innovative Healthcare startup named one of Time Magazine's best 25 inventions of 2017.
Alex holds a BA in Industrial Design and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Design and has 10+ years experience working with multiple Fortune 500 companies, as well as early stage startups, helping them transform ideas into reality. As Vice Chair of the WID SF chapter, Alex will focus on promoting a platform for other women in the ID field to augment their voices and foster a sense of community by hosting relevant and empowering events throughout the year.
