![]() | Tucker Viemeister, FIDSA, Chair: Tucker is president of Springtime-USA, a partnership with the young Dutch industrial design company with clients like Heineken and PTTPost (the Dutch postal service). A graduate from Pratt Institute, Tucker helped to found Razorfish’s physical design capability, frogdesign’s New York office and Smart Design where he helped design the widely-acclaimed OXO “GoodGrips” universal kitchen tools. He is vice president of the Architectural League of New York, chair of the Rowena Reed Kostellow Fund and president of the International Design Network Foundation. He produced and designed a book written by Gail Greet Hannah, Elements of Design: Rowena Reed Kostellow and the Structure of Visual relationships. Tucker currently teaches at NYU’s ITP. |
![]() | Peter Arnell, IDSA: Peter Arnell is founder and chief creative officer of Arnell Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Omnicom. Arnell Group is a comprehensive branding company and has created the omni marks for such noted companies as Donna Karan, DKNY, ConEd, and Samsung. He has been published extensively as an accomplished photographer and has written and directed over 300 commercial films for such clients as Chanel, Reebok and Chrysler. Peter studied architecture at Brooklyn Tech, Columbia and Princeton, and he developed, wrote and edited nineteen books on architectural theory and art history. He serves on the board of the Special Olympics and is honorary fire commissioner and chief creative officer of the FDNY. |

![]() | Chris Conley, IDSA: Chris Conley is co-founder and director of Gravity Tank and Associate Professor and Track Lead of Product Design at the Institute of Design in Chicago. In the early 90’s he pioneered the application of user research to inspire design and management teams. At Gravity Tank he leads the development of Integrated Definition™, a way of working that leverages the core competencies of design to enable cross-functional client teams to define new product and service innovations. At the Institute of Design, he has further developed the graduate product design program to prepare professionals to use design in the front-end planning stages of new product and service development. Chris writes, speaks and conducts workshops on the core competencies of design and their value to the practice of innovation. ![]() | Natascha Drabbe, I/IDSA: Natascha Drabbe is project manager at Premsela, the Dutch Design Foundation in Amsterdam. She has also been a project manager for an international architecture exhibition in Düsseldorf and was responsible for PR at Utrecht-based studio of architect Mart van Schijndel. In 1996, she started Cultural Connections, which organized projects on architecture and design, focusing mainly on social issues. Her design exhibition on sustainable product design, ‘re-f-use’, was seen in thirteen European museums between 1997 and 2002. In 2001 she won the Ecotech Award for ‘re-f-use’. Natascha has worked as a publicist, lecturer and has been a member of both Dutch and international juries. |

Since 1979, Keeley has worked with many global companies on innovation effectiveness, among them Aetna, American Express, Apple, Citigroup, Consignia, Hallmark, McDonald’s, Motorola, Pfizer, Shell, Steelcase, Texas Instruments, Whirlpool, and Zurich Financial Services. He lectures frequently and publishes regularly on strategic aspects of innovation. Keeley teaches graduate innovation strategy classes at the Institute of Design in Chicago, the first design school in the U.S. with a Ph.D. program, where he is also a board member. He lectures at executive education programs at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and in their Masters of Manufacturing Management program, plus in the University of Chicago MBA program. |
![]() | Michael McCoy, IDSA: Michael McCoy is a partner in McCoy&McCoy, Fahnstrom/McCoy, High Ground Design Workshops and co-director of Post-Professional Programs at RMCAD in Denver. He was co-director of the Design Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art for 23 years, distinguished visiting professor at The Royal College of Art in London from 1993 to 1995 and on the faculty of IIT’s Institute of Design from 1995 to 2004. His work for such clients as Knoll, Philips Electronics, Formica, NEC and Steelcase has received over 200 awards and been exhibited worldwide, including the National Design Museum, the British Design Museum and SFMOMA. He is widely published and is Co-author of Cranbrook Design:The New Discourse published by Rizolli. ![]() | Pierre-Yves (PY) Panis, IDSA: is design manager for Legrand, a manufacturer of electrical wiring devices. Based in South-West France, the Legrand Design Studio develops switches, outlets, DatCom products, home control, alarm and lighting systems. Prior to joining Legrand PY was Principal Designer at Moen. He has spent eight years in Southern Africa where he created and managed Design Co Operation (DCO), a non-profit design structure aimed at improving urban informal sector production in Zimbabwe. DCO’s activities were centered on a commitment to “design for development”; using an industrial design approach to conceive of and develop products specifically for small-scale, low-tech production environments. He is a graduate of Les Ateliers (the French National School of Industrial Design) in Paris. |

Projects include serving as program director of the Art Center Design Conference in Los Angeles and working with and writing for a number of publications, including Newsweek, Travel + Leisure, Popular Science and The New York Times. She is the curator of the exhibition “The Voting Booth Project” at Parsons School of Design featuring 50 leading architects and designers who poignantly re-imagined actual voting booths used in the 2000 election in Florida. Chee founded and chaired of the Chrysler Design Awards for its ten-year duration and is the former Editor-in-Chief of I.D. Magazine, which received five National Magazine Awards under her tenure. |

Prior to Gap, Ross held design leadership positions in companies such as Mattel, Calvin Klein, Coach, Bausch & Lomb and Swatch Watch. In addition, Ross was a founding partner of two independent design firms and a retail store. A world-renowned artist, Ross’ innovative metal work in jewelry is in the permanent collection of 12 international museums. A winner of the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts grant, Ross has also received the Women in Design Award and Diamond International award for her creative designs. ![]() | Budd Steinhilber, FIDSA: Budd Steinhilber began his design apprenticeship with Raymond Loewy Associates and then joined Dohner & Lippincott, later to become Lippincott & Margulies. He was part of the L&M teams that designed the “Tucker 48” rear-engine car, as well as the Crew and Officers quarters for the “USS Nautilus” nuclear submarine. For 17 years he was a partner in Vie Design Studios. Budd was chairman of the 1985 IDEA Jury and IDSA national secretary-treasurer that served on the executive committee which helped forge the 1990 alliance with BusinessWeek magazine. He founded and chaired the IDSA Environmental Concern committee and has been honored with the IDSA Personal Recognition Award, two Gold IDEA Awards, a grant from the NEA Distinguished Designer Fellowship program and an Alumni Achievement Award from his alma mater, Pratt Institute. |

He is the former director of the world-renowned graduate design program at Cranbrook Academy of Art. She is a contributing editor of Patek Philippe and Budget Living magazines and lectures frequently on design and architecture.
