Chris Livaudais, Atlanta Chapter chair, and Michael Rall, assistant professor of industrial design at Appalachian State University, have a new take on the traditional Portfolio Review. “Everyone will receive some great feedback and have some fun,” says Southern District VP Chris Parke of this year's Portfolio Review at SDDC 15.
Students will split into two groups. Members of one group will have one-on-one time with professionals that will last about seven to ten minutes. Members of the second group will learn from Livaudais and Rall how to explain their portfolios as a story of their work; not as a project-by-project, page-by page document.
Parke says both the one-on-one reviews and the workshop will last an hour; then the groups will switch. “We’re aiming for everyone to receive as many reviews as possible and learn a couple of new skills when it comes to job interviews,” he explains.
This Portfolio Review and Workshop is sponsored by Eastman Innovation Lab.
