Super Sensing and Then Some

IDSA Fellow Speaks at Key NYC Events

Dec 12 2017 - 2:39pm

It's a busy end-of-2017 for renowned designer, IDSA Fellow Tucker Viemeister. He’s sharing his passion for design with stops at several events including frog design’s Speaker Series and at The Age of Super Sensing 2017—both in the Big Apple.

Viemeister will serve as a facilitator at The International Conference on Advanced Sensing Design & Technology, which will be held from 2 to 9pm on Wed., Dec. 13 at Japan Society, 333 E. 47th Street. The event, hosted by a Tokyo-based artificial intelligence (AI) design, research and consulting startup for the IoT space, will reveal the latest advancements in human productivity, machine learning and AI technologies and how this will impact business and daily lives.

On Nov. 29, Viemeister fired up his 20-year-old Mac for "The Elder Wunderkind" to show some vintage frog design presentations and talk about the past, present and possible future of design. He was surrounded by a standing-room only audience. "They loved the videos of the dual time warp and the acer frog," Viemeister says. "They also loved hearing about how we opened the NY office. They even have our old sign! We had an interesting discussion about where design is going and i signed their wall! Thanks to everyone. It feels great to be part of the frog DNA!"

Viemeister founded frogNYC in 1997 at the request of design legend Hartmut Esslinger. It was a moment described by Businessweek as "two of the most famous and mercurial figures in the product design world linking up."
