IDSA Wisconsin's Link & Drink

On September 16, the IDSA Wisconsin chapter held its Link & Drink.

Beautiful weather, biking and free beer made for a very enjoyable social and networking event for the local community.

Among the attendees was a range of designers of many fields, engineers, marketing and business professionals and bike enthusiasts!

The event kicked off with a Super Chill 5-8 mile bike ride that ended at Capital Brewery in Middleton, WI.

IDSA Indiana's Summer Architecture Tour

We finished up July with a small but exciting architecture tour in Columbus, Indiana. We met at the visitor's center to watch a short film about the history of the area and then toured the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library designed in 1969 by I.M. Pei. After checking out Eliel Saarinen's First Christian Church right across the street we boarded a bus for a trip around town and got to stop and check out several other buildings.

Together with Louisville's local chapter of AIGA, we'd like to take you on an exclusive industrial design and graphic design tour of Kenmark Optical. These Ain’t Your Kidz Sketching Tools

On July 12th, Chevis Watkinson walked us through the stages of rough thumbnail sketch to presentation sketch rendering. If you missed the webinar or would like to see it again, check out the link below. This webinar is geared to anyone who wants to pick up a few tips and tricks in various software packages and also see how the various packages can work together. Also if you don't have these particular packages don't fret as the work flow can easily be adapted to a variety of software.

IDSA Chicago's Sketchnote Summit with Craighton Berman

Last spring, IDSA Chicago brought the best of 'sketchnoters' to one event, entitled Sketchnote Summit. This activity was held in partnership with Columbia College Chicago at the Quincy Wong Center. The summit featured Craighton Berman, a designer, illustrator, and creative director based in Chicago and Stefani Bachetti, a practicing design researcher and visualizer with a background in industrial design, architecture, and education.

This event was complimentary to IDSA members.

Field Trip to 2014 Pittsburgh Int'l Auto Show

The Western PA IDSA chapter would like to invite all members, students, and anyone interested in design to take a field trip to the 2014 Pittsburgh International Auto Show Saturday February 15th at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

We will all meet at the main entrance on the ground floor by the escalators at 2pm. After touring the show for a few hours we will head over to a bar and restaurant for a happy hour discussion of what we saw. General admission tickets are just $10 and more information can be found at online.
