GE Appliances Student Design Competition Deadline is June 1
GE Appliances is accepting entries through June 1, 2016 for a Student Design Competition that was launched at IDSA's Northeast District Design Conference (NEDDC). Students who attended NEDDC are eligible to enter. They should consider a target user group and design an accessory to complement an existing or future GE appliance. "How might trends in connectivity, healthful living and customization be utilized to enhance a user's cooking, cleaning or storage experience?" Winners will be announced June 9.
First prize is a Cintiq 13HD Interactive Pen Display worth $999; second prize is a large Intuous Pro Pen & Touch worth $499. Winners will receive additional recognition on GE Appliances and IDSA social media, as well as on the GE Monogram Save Room for Design blog. To enter, submit a PDF (maximum file size 6MB) detailing your concept; your name, school and contact information to Timothy.Read1@ge.com.
"We're excited to engage with students at NEDDC through this design challenge!," says Rebecca Alvord, IDSA, of GE Appliances. "We hope it will lead to more visibility for our design intern program as well."
