IDSA Education Symposium to Kick off Future of the Future
The chair of the latest IDSA/Eastman Education Symposium is revealing new details on the event that will jump start Seattle's 2015 International Conference: Future of the Future, celebrating IDSA’s 50th anniversary.
Symposium Chair and IDSA Board of Directors Education VP Ayse Birsel says the day will begin Sooshin Choi, IDSA, provost and vice president for academic affairs of the College for Creative Studies, and wrap up with Don Norman, PhD, IDSA, director of the new Design Lab at the University of California and author of The Design of Everyday Things.
Sessions in between are packed with inisght and innovation from an impressive roster of speakers from the coporate and higher education worlds:
- Arnold Wasserman, IDSA, founding principal of Collective Invention and hailed by Fast Company as a Master of Design, will share LEARN!2050.
- Jay Peters, IDSA, director and managing partner of PARK & Grow USA, will explain why “investing in the future of design has become a necessity for organizations to survive and thrive.”
- Katherine Bennett, IDSA, qualitative research specialist at Art Center College of Design, will lead a live research project during the conference on IDSA’s Relation to Education.
- IBM Design Principal Doug Powell will reveal how a new approach to design education on a global scale is helping drive change at the tech giant.
