Before Peter Muller-Munk molded plastic into headgear, the articulate, cultured German silversmith was a 22-year-old immigrant from Berlin to New York City. In the mid-1920s, he landed a job at Tiffany & Co., then left after less than a year to open his own studio. In a prophetic review of his silver designs published in December 1927, The New York Times called him “an artist of vision and taste.”
