The US Mint is launching a new coin design competition—and the winner will have the chance to make a lasting impression. The World War I Centennial 2018 Commemorative Coin Design Competition kicks off Feb. 28, 2016.

“As an organization that places value on the military and military arts, we hope you will help spread the word about this opportunity to design a commemorative coin that will pay tribute to the bravery, actions and sacrifices of Americans during the country’s involvement in World War I almost 100 years ago,” says the commission.

The winner's initials will be etched into the final coin and the winner will receive a $10,000 prize. Follow the competition on @USMint on Twitter and on Facebook.
