Rocket Competition Boosts Emerging ID

The Association of Chartered Industrial Designers of Ontario (ACIDO) is holding its 14th annual Rocket design thesis competition. It's open to seniors at Canada’s Carleton University, Humber College and OCAD University (formerly known as the Ontario College of Art and Design). The entry deadline is June 1, 2015.

Rocket provides an opportunity for rising industrial designers to showcase their talents, meet their peers, mark their graduation and network with professional industrial designers in Ontario.

ACIDO is offering a cash prize. Sponsors such as Spin Master, Cortext Design,Teknion, Javelin Technologies, Designforce, Swave Studios, Nova Product Development Services, Inertia Engineering and Umbra are adding more incentives. There is also a People's Choice Award for the project that receives the most public votes.

Carleton University’s School of Industrial Design has an IDSA Student Chapter. The faculty advisor is Associate Professor Lois Frankel, IDSA.
