Thanks to David Lynn for sharing his experience, knowledge, and thoughts on all things automotive with the Atlanta Chapter on August 8th. We had the pleasure of seeing his automotive career through images and colorful stories that shed light on what it's like to design endurance race cars.
David drew parallels to more traditional industrial design, noting that even when designing race cars you still have a client...and a budget...and manufacturing constraints...and ergonomics...and an end user who needs to feel comfortable 'using' the car.
We then shifted gears (pun intended) to talk about some of the concept cars currently on display at the High Museum of Art. The exhibition is called "Dream Cars" and features 17 vehicles that explore the limits of technology, function, and design.
To close things up, a few of us took a short walk over to the museum to see the cars in person. What a treat! Cars on display include the 1953 GM Firebird XP-1, 1970 Lancia (Bertone) Stratos HF Zero, 2001 BMW Gina, and 2010 Porsche 918 Spyder.
Thanks to David and everyone who joined us!
