Welcome to INNOVATION, IDSA’s quarterly and one of the best places to learn about the practice of industrial design. Every issue of INNOVATION reaches IDSA’s membership, Fortune 500 companies, universities, associations, design consultancies and subscribers around the world.

The Summer 2014 INNOVATION explores the many topical issues that impact the healthcare space these days. Medical Evolution is guest edited by Sean Hägen, IDSA, BlackHägen Design, who is also the Chair of IDSA’s first Annual Medical Device Design Conference scheduled for November 6-7, 2014. Of all the diverse market niches industrial designers excel in and add value, the healthcare space is unique, as it is the most regulated fom the government initiative to reform a dysfunctional insurance and care delivery system to domestic and international agencies charted to ensure safe and effective medical devices.
