Shea Tillman, IDSA, AIGA
Associate Professor, School of Industrial and Graphic Design
With a background rooted in both user research and consumer product development, Shea Tillman, IDSA, teaches fourth-year advanced product design and foundations studios, as well as industrial design history, in the School of Industrial and Graphic Design at Auburn University.
Currently, Tillman leads Studio+Health, a course focused on better orienting product design students for projects in medical device development.
His professional experience includes work as an industrial designer with TTi (Ryobi, Ridgid, Craftsman tools) and Cooper Lighting, as well as a user researcher with SonicRim in Columbus, OH. Tillman also led design and innovation collaborations with companies such as Emerson Tool, Eastman, Werner, Leica Geosystems and Microsoft. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from Auburn University and an M.A. from The Ohio State University.
